August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

We are back with another look at the August My Monthly Hero release! the kit will be available on Monday, August 7th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We’ll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for inspiration! Now let’s join Michelle, who is sharing another look at this fabulous kit, available on Monday!

Well, isn’t this kit fabulous! I love that it can be used to make projects for lots of different occasions. You can make some great backgrounds with this kit too! For my card, I started off with the background. Taking a piece of Yupo paper, I applied Alcohol Inks to it, blowing air over the piece to create some movement. I then splattered over white paint to create some stars. This piece was then set aside to dry.

I took the boy on the moon image from the main stamp set and stamped this on to a piece of white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I then stamped the star using Versamark Ink. I applied silver embossing powder and then heat set. You get the coordinating dies in the kit but I wanted to have the whole image cut out, along with the star I added, so I fussy cut the image out with scissors.

Once the background piece was dry, I added this to a white A2 card base and then cut two strips of white cardstock to add on top. I took the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment from the Prayers Stamp & Cut and stamped this on to the top piece. The stamp set has some wonderful sentiments in it, but I wanted a smaller scale one for the design of my card and I thought the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment went well. I added the cardstock strips to the front of the card with foam tape and then added the moon and boy image on top.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, August 7th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win.

Good luck!
