April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the countdown to the release of the April My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, April 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. A reminder, this month shipping will be delayed. Currently we estimate that shipping will begin April 20. We know you are excited to get your kit and appreciate your patience as we work through delays during this time of COVID-19. We are sending love and support, as well as healing thoughts to those who know people who have fallen sick or are sick themselves.

Let's see what our newest Creative Team member came up with...

Hey there! Daniel West here to show off the My Monthly Hero Card Kit for April 2020 with a switch up on the stencil included in this kit.

The landscape stencil includes a wavy foreground and a cloudy sky with a sun or moon, depending on how you use it! For this card, I used the stencil to create an Aussie desert scene with Reactive Inks, blender brushes and some masking. I figured the change-up on this card would give you some ideas on how to use the stencil for all it's worth!

To begin, I prepped the stencil with some tacky spray adhesive and laid it down over a 4 x 5.25" panel of Dove White cardstock. Then, I gently added ink down the front of the panel in Blue Hawaii, Taffy, and Lemon Drop inks. Then, I masked off the bottom portion in two sections by cutting rounded shapes out plain paper. Each dune got a different color: Fruit Punch and Berry Smoothie. For each color, I turned the stencil in a different direction.

Next, I placed my critters, sentiment and tree from the main kit into the Hero Arts MISTI and stamped them on the front with Intensified Black Ink.

To finish off the card, I popped up my panel on the front of a top folded card base using fun foam and Precision Glue.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, April 6, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

There is still more inspiration coming, be sure to tune in to the rest of the Countdown!
