Video: No-Line Watercoloring Monochromatic Fall Card

Hey everyone. It's Dana here with you today. We are speeding into fall very quickly so I decided to pull out my shades of brown and get ready for cooler weather. When making a monochromatic card, it's all about keeping the color tones to one palette. So let's take it up a notch and do no-line watercoloring as well.

Here is the video for my no-line watercolor technique:

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch  HERE  on YouTube.)

For today's card I have a few tips and tricks to help you be successful with no-line watercoloring. It can be a little intimidating at first. However trust me you can do it. First start off with the right paper. I'm using the Hero Arts Luxe White Watercolor Paper . The adorable fox from the new  Fall Fox stamp set was inked and stamped with  Contour Ink . I watercolored the image using Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors in TerraCotta , Cocoa and Coffee . To tone down a few colors I also used Liquid Watercolor in White

Don't waste any of the liquid watercolor you used the color your image with. Use it to create a beautiful background for your card. To add some texture to my background I splattered on Bronze Glimmer Metallic Ink . Remember you don't have to use a full watercolor background. I pulled out my  Tag Infinity Dies  to trim down the background for the perfect resting place for my watercolor fox. By adding in the blowing leaves from the stamp set with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe  ink and a sentiment stamped in  Unicorn White  ink then heat embossed in  Detail White Embossing Powder , I have a great background now.

To finish off the card, I stamped the  Trail Map Bold Prints  in the same Cup O' Joe ink onto  Woodland  cardstock. This piece was layered on a  Dove White Side Folded Card . To add in some dimension, I popped up my watercolor layer and fox onto the Woodland card panel. Lastly I add a few faux stitch lines around the card with a white gelli roll pen.

I hope I inspired you to pull out your Hero Arts Contour ink and do some no-line watercoloring. Give it a try, I'm sure you will be successful with practice. Have a great day everyone.
