Video: Creating a Night Sky with Ink Blending and Die Cutting

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card and video to share with you creating a night sky using the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies . When I first saw these dies, all I could think of was lovely fluffy white clouds and sun images, which is great but I wanted to try and use them in a different way. As I was playing around with them, I thought it would be fun to create a night sky and use the circle dies for the moon, instead of a sun.

I started off by creating the night sky, so that I had time to let it sit and dry. I took a panel of Hero Hues Dove White Premium Cardstock and started off by blending a layer of Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink on to the top half. I then added on Grape Slush Reactive Ink , followed by Navy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink . To add even more depth, I added Intens-ified Black Ink in the corners. I then splattered on some White Iridescent Shimmer Spray and let it dry. 

I took the Cloudy Sky Scene Dies and cut two panels of Dove White Cardstock with them. I also cut a piece from Vellum Layering Paper . I then cut the smallest circle in the set from Dove White too. Using the remaining ink on the blending brushes I used to blend the sky, I blended the cloud cardstock layers with the ink. 

I took a top folding card base and cut the side down so that it was just under 4" wide. I then adhered the background layer on top, followed by the cloud layers. I added a little Copic colouring to the moon and added that in the sky. I then die cut the Airplane Fancy Die from more Dove White Cardstock and added a little Copic colouring to that too. It was added to the card with foam tape, having it hang off the left edge slightly (which is why I cut the card base down). 

I took the sentiment from the Astronomical stamp set and stamped it on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Premium Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink . I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It was then cut in to a strip and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few sequins.
