Saturdays with Sally: Put a Heart on it!

Using a heart for the latest Stay Crafty with Hero challenge really is NO CHALLENGE for me. Almost everything leaves my desk with a heart on it!

I decided to use the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies to make actual heart-shaped cards today. You merely put the folded edge below the die’s cutting edge, and the card will open up and stand all by itself. The fold can be at the top OR side! But if you actually want it to stand up, you might need to cut the point off the bottom.

I was inspired by the colors in my tiny floral arrangement and decided to make the first card with similar colors. I used an Antique Ivory base card, then stamped a bunch of tiny flowers and leaves from various stamp sets - any you happen to have will work great! The flower I used is from Strong Anchor Stamp & Cut, and the leaves are from Bouquet Accessories and Envelope Accessories Fancy Dies, all gorgeous new sets coming soon in the Spring catalog, but look through your stash - I'm sure you have something that will be perfect! I scattered them all over the card and added XOXO from Sending Love Mail - another set from the Spring catalog.

On the second card, I cut out a Cranberry heart card using the hearts dies, with the fold on top. Again I used something from the Spring catalog - this time the "love" die from Love You Stamp & Cut XL. The "sending my love" sentiment is also from Sending Love Mail. Googly Eyes makes it just too cute, and fun for my grandkids!

For the last heart card, I die cut a Dove White card and several small hearts from the nesting hearts in Papaya, Azalea, Cherry and Pumpkin. I foam mounted them randomly on the heart base, then added Enamel Dots to the centers. A pink bow finished off the card.

So, you see, making heart cards is my bliss. I could go on for days… try making a folded card with LOTS of different shapes! I CHALLENGE you!

We'd love if you'd play along with our challenge to Include a Heart - the challenge closes for entries on February 4th!
