Saturdays with Sally - For the LOVE of HEARTS!

I love HEARTS! I think the whole world knows that! And this month I took pleasure in maxing out the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. I tried using them in many ways!

I will chat about all of these but give you instructions for a few. The others are easily replicated by looking at them!! My first and favorite is the “cut out hearts” on a white card. Simply arrange three sizes of hearts on the front of a card and die cut. Then die cut two other small hearts. Take your Ink Blending Brushes and any inks you desire and swirl rainbow-like colors on the inside. The beautiful colors will show through the heart openings. Add the sparkle with gold Glitter Paper using the same Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies plus letters from the XOXO Cover Plate.

The “thanks for being a great friend” valentine was created with the same nesting dies. I cut two large hearts from Coral and Papaya cardstocks. I re-cut the Papaya heart by placing the large die on top and cutting out the middle in a V shape, to create the opening. Stitch the two together with gold thread, or simply use glue, and you have a pocket. Good for messages, gift cards or whatever. My valentine is two sizes of hearts glued together with a tiny message from All My Heart Peek-A-Boo Parts, and a hole punched for ribbon and fancy paper clip.

If you don’t have any colored paper at home, try this! Your junk mail from cruises and catalogs makes GREAT sturdy paper to die cut. I especially save ones with foil or embossing. Die cut them with your heart dies for fun, colorful card elements! The "Sending Love" greeting is from Handwritten Messages.

And a few notes about the last couple cards - the conversation hearts are created from pastel cardstocks and the little messages in All My Heart Peek-A-Boo Parts, plus the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. And kids will love the googly eyes on die cut scraps of stamped papers.

I hope this has given you some ideas to start making some Valentines for all your special heart-loving friends!!
