Color Week: Fairy Garden with New Color Combo

Hello Hero friends! It's Mindy with you today to share inspiration featuring some of the brand new Core Ink colors!

There is a color combination I really wanted to try out and that is using Amethyst, Mist and Antique Ivory. The thing is... Antique Ivory is quite light and it can be more of a challenge to blend into another color like Mist. So I found a different way to get these colors to mix together.

On Deluxe White cardstock, I'm going to go direct to paper and swipe my ink pads across. I start with the lightest color, Antique Ivory, then swipe on Mist so it overlaps just slightly. I'll come in last with the Amethyst by swiping it across the paper, overlapping once again over the previous color, Mist.

I'll trim this panel down using a circle from the Circle Infinity Die set.

Using a clear block, I'm going to stamp an image from the Floral Silhouettes stamp set. I'll start on one side of the circle and work my way down and over to the right of the circle. Sometimes after the first generation stamping, I'll stamp again, slightly off set, to get that lighter silhouette. I'm using Granite and Charcoal inks to do my stamping.

I thought this scene would make a great fairy garden so I used a small fairy image from the Meadow HeroScape set and stamped her in Granite.

I'm going to add foam tape to the back of the circle to pop it up on an A2 size card front created from Deluxe White cardstock.

I'll finish this up with a sentiment that I stamped in Unicorn pigment ink onto Pitch Black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I like to use the Rectangle Infinity Dies to cut out my sentiment whenever I can. This sentiment also comes from the Meadow HeroScape stamp set.

Dreamy, right? I hope you enjoyed today's card project and will give this direct to paper technique a try!

Before I go, I want to let you know about our free downloadable Core Ink swatch chart. You can find it HERE – download it, print it out and begin stamping in the squares as you collect your inks! It's a great resource to have at your fingertips when you're selecting colors for your projects.
