Video: Easel Watercolored Card with March MMH Kit

Hello, friends! It’s Channin here and today I have a fun easel card to share featuring the March My Monthly Hero Kit ! The easel card design is a great way to showcase the beautiful tree image from this set and also makes for a fun and unique way to display a card!

Be sure to watch the video to not only see how I create the easel card base but to also see how I watercolor my images with the included rainbow Reactive Palette Ink Pad.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE   on YouTube.)

To create this card I first stamped several images from the stamp set in Intens-ified Black Ink onto watercolor paper. I then watercolored the images using ink from the Reactive Palette Ink Pad included in the kit. When I had finished watercoloring all the images I die cut them out with the matching dies.

Next, I created the easel card base by first cutting a sheet of Mustard cardstock in half to create a 4 1/4” x 11” panel. I then scored the panel at 5 1/2” like you do when you are creating an A2 top-folding card base. Next, I scored the front of the card base at 2 3/4” to create the easel fold.

Then over an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock, I swiped the rainbow ink pad. I then cut the panel in half at 2 3/4”, adhered the two halves together, and adhered to the inside of the card. I  stamped and white heat embossed my sentiments onto Pitch Black cardstock, then trimmed them down to strips.

Next, I assembled my card by adhering two tree die cuts which I die cut out of scrap cardstock to the backside of the watercolored tree for support and dimension. I then adhered the girl onto the tree, added some support with stacked strips of cardstock behind her, and then adhered the tree/girl to the lower half of the card front.

Next I adhered one of the sentiment strips to the card front and finished the card by adhering the remaining sentiment and images to the inside of the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!
