Create a Z-Fold Card

Hello! Jennifer Kotas here and we are going to make a z-fold card using the beautiful Wild Flowers stamp set along with the Parquet Cover Plate Die. Let’s get started!

1. Cut a piece of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score and fold once at 2 1/8" then again 4 1/4".

2. Cut the Parquet Cover Plate Die from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. You may need to use a shim to get a crisp clean cut. Cut the panel in half. 

3. Adhere half of the panel to the shorter front folded section, making sure it lines up with the fold. Adhere the right half of the panel to the back fold, making sure the die cuts meet in the middle. 

4. Cut a 1/4" strip of Adriatic cardstock and adhere to left of back cut panel. This can’t be seen when card is closed but provides a nice finished edge. 

5. Stamp the images from the Wild Flowers stamp set, stamping the bunch of flowers twice. Color images with alcohol markers then cut out with coordinating dies found in the Wild Flowers Bundle. The smaller butterfly is from the With Sympathy Bundle.

6. Cut an extra of each image and adhere together. This adds a small amount of dimension plus provides a bit more stability for the flower bunch that will hang over the fold. 

7. Adhere the images to the card. Make sure to only add adhesive to the portion of the flower bunch that does not hang over the fold. 

8. To line up the flower bunch for the inside with the one on the front fold, flip card over, add Precision Glue to the image, place image facedown lined up with front image. Close card, flip it over and images should line up. 

9. Stamp the sentiment using Aquatic Core Ink, then cut out. Adhere to right panel using thin foam squares. 

10. Add Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen to butterflies and flower centers and Aqua Enamel Dots to the cover plate die cut. 

There’s still plenty of space to write a personal message on the inside of this z-fold card. If you don’t have the dies, consider using a Nesting Oval Infinity Die to hang over fold and adding image there. Use a background stamp or a stencil in place of the cover plate die.
