Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.

Classic, vintage and a little bit of Hawaiian fun are rolled into these new stamps and die-cuts by Hero Arts. Hi friends! I’m Debi Adams and I’m so excited to showcase some new My Monthly Hero add-ons for February with two new cards. Super great designs to work with and lots of ways to color and style them. Both cards are paired up with other sets which show exactly how versatile they really are.

The vintage woody car is an all die-cut design so you get to decide how you want to color it. I embellished it using Copic markers but you could do paper piecing too! It sits on top of the Sun Background stencil that was colored with Lemon Drop, Creamsicle and Pool Party Reactive inks on top of a Dove White top folded card base. I added the palm trees from the Vintage Paradise stamp set and coordinating Frame Cuts. They were stamped in with Key Lime Fizz and Pool Party Reactive inks along with Caramel hybrid ink. To add a bit of depth, I colored some areas in with darker Copic markers, die-cut them out and adhered them to the card base. Once the sentiment from the Volcano HeroScape set was stamped onto the card base with Intense Black ink, I die-cut the frame from the largest Wood Frame Infinity Die from Sand cardstock. It was embellished with a little bit of Caramel hybrid ink and Intense Black ink and set in place with foam dots. I attached the card last. Definitely felt a vintage vibe with this one, like maybe a postcard from the 50’s?

Aloha in Paradise. Don’t you wish you were headed there? Me too. Well I guess making a card will have to suffice for now. The background was stamped using the new Waterfall HeroScape stamps using Key Lime Fizz, Pool Party and Blue Hawaii Reactive inks and Tiger’s Eye Pigment pad. I stamped the horizon of palm trees in the background then stamped the canoe and single palm tree on a separate piece of cardstock, die-cut them out and adhered them to the card with adhesive. The last step was to die-cut the Aloha Cover Plate, color in the palm trees and stamp, cut and adhere the word “paradise” to the card. It’s a pretty quick card to create because the HeroScape does all the coloring for you! So happy we have lots of HeroScapes to choose from.

Well that’s a little bit of my paradise for today. Sure hope you found something that made you happy, brought back sweet memories or took you some place else for a while.

XO,
