April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #6 + Giveaway!

MMH Countdown to Creativity

We hope you've been enjoying this weekend's countdown to the April My Monthly Hero release! We're only one day away - the kit goes live in the Hero Arts store at 1pm eastern/10am pacific on Monday, April 4th! This morning Kelly joins us for some gorgeous ideas for using this kit...

While the images in this kit are perfect for coloring they also stand out with some simple white embossing. I've created two cards to show off the gorgeous effect an outline flower image has with some simple embossing.

For the first card, I used the largest flower and leaf image in the main stamp set to white heat emboss an entire background. Then I used the emboss resist technique and applied Distress Inks to blend the gradient of color.

Beautiful Day by Kelly Rasmussen for Hero ArtsI gold heat embossed the message and adhered it over a cluster of gold thread. I just love the mixed font sentiments in the stamp set!

For the next card, I wanted to keep things really clean and simple and let that beautiful flower really take center stage.

Thank You by Kelly Rasmussen for Hero Arts

I white heat embossed the flower and message onto a banner cut from vellum and then sewed it to a Hero Arts Lilac Folded Card, which is included in the kit. I finished off the card with a scattering of the purple pearl embellishments also included in the kit.

Thanks Kelly! Remember to comment on this and every Countdown to Creativity post this weekend. We will be giving away a kit to one lucky reader before you can buy it! Comment on every post for more chances to win! We'll announce the winner tomorrow morning.

We'll be back later today with one more Countdown post!
