April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the April My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, April 3rd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We’ll be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don’t forget to comment on each and every post as we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! In this post Michelle shares the first look at this fantastic kit!

What a great kit this month! It is filled with gorgeous images especially perfect for the women in your lives. Mothers, sisters, daughters, friends … there is something for everyone!

For my card today I started off with a piece of watercolour paper. I then took the ballerina dress from the main stamp set and stamped it repeatedly across the watercolour paper using Cotton Candy Mid-Tone Shadow Ink. I then took the Watercolour Dot Palette and added colour to the dresses using Quinacrodone Pink. I added the watercolour in a few layers to build up the intensity that I wanted. I then set this piece aside to dry.

Once dry, I took one of the sentiments from the You Are Fabulous Stamp Set, which is one of the fabulous add-ons, and stamped this below the dresses with Intense Black Ink. I took the pink shimmer cardstock from the kit and added a panel of this to the front of a white 4.25″ x 5″ card base. I then added the image panel on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added Blush Ombre Sequins and Clear Gemstones.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, April 3rd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for popping by today. Enjoy the rest of the countdown!
