Today's post introduces the latest challenge from our friends over at A Blog Named Hero. We are so thankful for the support they give us, and the beautiful creations the team creates. Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to be here representing A Blog Named Hero today. Our challenge this month is Floral! So, who is ready to put away the winter stamps and get out the spring florals? I am! Hero Arts makes the best floral stamps, backgrounds and fancy dies around.
Have you ever seen a beautiful stamp, have great aspirations of coloring it and then are slightly overwhelmed once you receive it? Well, that was me with this beautiful Butterfly Garden Background Cling stamp. I immediately fell in love but the second I started coloring it I knew I was in over my head. I decided to take a step back and get familiar with the stamp before coloring it. You know, make friends with it first. 
For my project today, I started by stamping the Butterfly Garden cling on Peony cardstock with Taffy Reactive Ink. It stamped beautifully. I get great impressions every time using Reactive Ink and Hero Hues Premium Cardstock.
Next, I took the new Happy Thanks Stamp & Cut XL and did a partial die cut of the word "happy" at the top third of the panel. I used my trimmer to cut away the top potion leaving behind most of the panel. I adhered this panel to a card base. I also die cut the word "happy" twice from Azalea cardstock. Using Precision Glue, I stacked the two together and put them aside to dry. I added a thin strip of Pitch Black cardstock for some definition and separation. Then I added the stacked Azalea "happy" but offset it just a little so you can see the background peeking out ever so slightly. 
Next, I took a scrap of Pitch Black cardstock and stamped the word "birthday" from Sending Love Mail stamp set using Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink. I heat embossed using White Detail Embossing Powder. I attached the sentiment strip to the panel using more of Precision Glue. The glue gives me enough time to use my T-ruler and get it straight before it dries.
I used the side-facing butterfly from Bouquet Accessories Fancy Dies cut from Azalea cardstock. I used a black marker to define the butterfly body and added a little shimmer to the wing. I added a little foam behind the butterfly to pop it up.
