Spooky Cute Cards Featuring the Happy Haunting Collection
Hello, crafty friends! This is Emily Leiphart and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Happy Haunting Collection. I love creating Halloween cards and, much like my cards for past collections like Boo Dance Party, I wanted to spark inspiration with a fun, non-traditional color palette.
The Happy Haunting Collection includes so many fabulous products and I chose to feature Fiona the Dancin’ Witch, Woof-or-Treat and Witchin’ Heels. I may be sharing only three cards here but you’ll definitely see more from this collection.
The color palette I’m using includes Pink Sand, Spiced Cider, Nectar, Pale Rose, Meadow, Peacock, Slate Gray, and Onyx cardstock. Also featured is the Glitter Teal from the Shimmering Tropics Glitter Foam Sheets, which appears on all three cards.
My first card features the adorable Fiona the Dancin’ Witch and - you guessed it - her legs move! I love every dancing die set that Spellbinders produces and this is no exception! She was so much fun to assemble, especially in this color palette. I’m definitely going to have to make a bunch and set them aside for future cards.
Since Fiona is tall for an A2 card, I decided to make this a 3.5” x 6.5” mini slimline. I added a sentiment from last year’s Halloween Icons Press Plate & Die Set. I absolutely love the sentiments and letterpress images in this set and they work perfectly with the new Happy Haunting Collection.
I may have squealed when I made my second card because of the capybara - I mean, puppy - from Woof-or-Treat. LOL My family and I are obsessed with capybaras right now and this looks like our stuffed version. Isn’t he absolutely adorable dressed as a ghost? I paired him up with the perfect sentiment from Halloween Icons Press Plate & Die Set.
For the background, I used the Diamond Plaid Embossing Folder for the base, then cut two layers with the Mirrored Arch Labels. Originally, the Onyx panel was left plain but then I decided to press the framed ghosts into the background with black ink. It emphasizes the ghost theme of the card and is spooky cute!
My last card features Witchin’ Heels and, of course, I took the opportunity to make her fancy with a sparkly hat and heels. I love the way those cute pumpkins hang on her broomstick but felt the scene needed a few extras so I pulled the Haunted House from the Boo Party Dance Collection and added a moon and wispy fog. The leaves on the pumpkins are from another favourite Mini Blooms and Sprigs.
What are your favorites from the Happy Haunting Collection and what will you add to your cart first? I would love to hear all your ideas for these fun, new products!
I hope you find plenty of inspiration from this set cards featuring all of these products from the Happy Haunting Collection! All of the coordinating products in this release are a fun and easy way to create cute and interactive Halloween cards.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! You can find more inspiration on my blog,Instagram, and YouTube channel.
