Merry Stitchmas Collection Inspiration with Caly Person
Sep 28, 2021
Hi, Everyone! This is Caly Person with you today! I’m sharing three cards using products from the Merry Stitchmas Collection. I tried to pick a non-traditional color scheme for my cards today using pinks and greens. Gives it softer look and I hope you like these projects!
I used standard six-stranded embroidery floss for today’s stitching panels along with some gold thread. You’ll notice the colors I choose are not only in the thread, but also in the cardstock. I started with white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers to match the thread that I used for the projects.
For my first card, I die-cut the Diamond Stitch die 3 times. I used Copic markers (G20, G24, R81, RV29) to color each of the diamonds to create a pattern before stitching them with gold thread. Since the diamond strips are so colorful, I decided to stitch them all with gold thread.
I attached the Diamond Stitch strips over cream cardstock and attached this panel with foam adhesive over a cardbase, giving it a nice and thick border all around.
For my second card, I die-cut the Stitchmas Tree panel in white. I used the G20 marker to color the tree portion and the E31 marker to color the trunk of the tree. Then, I stitched my tree with embroidery floss and gold thread.
I in-laid some metallic gold cardstock and backed some of the areas with green cardstock to add color in areas where stitching is not intended. For the background, I used the Diamond Stitch die and embossed an entire white panel to give it texture.
My final card uses the Sparkling Mandala die. I die-cut the mandala/snowflake in white and stitched this one with all 4 colors of thread that I chose as well as gold as well to outline the details.
For my background, I used the Snowflake Sparkle Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and foiled it with Polished Brass foil. To give it some color, I ink-blended around the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink.
To finish all three cards, I foiled Yana’s Christmas Sentiments in Polished Brass over black cardstock and adhered them to my cards.
