Little Loves Inspiration | Silhouette Cards with Susie – Part 2

Hello! Susie here, and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders Blog sharing another series of silhouettes from the popular, Little Loves Collection of dies by Sharyn Sowell.  This collection wraps its arms and heart around the early childhood years, and I’m delighted to share it with you.

I wanted to create designs with a playful retro look so I chose patterned paper to achieve the effect and compliment the, Little Boys at Play die.  If you remember from my last post I talked about using matching ephemera to add elements of interest.  For this card I used one of the chipboard sentiments to introduce the little boys.  Simple shapes and stripes are layered on top of retro paper designs in primary colors.  The endearing scene is tied together with twine while flat enamel dots add movement and additional interest.

Every Day’s A Happy Day should be the desire of our heart.  Whimsy is the hallmark of this lovely scene, and fun and folic the name of the game for these sweet children as they play the day away in the park.  More vintage patterned paper sets the scene for our band of merry makers.  Twine, striped paper, flat enamel dots, and a chipboard sentiment are their companion for a day filled with fun!
