Good Vibes Only Inspiration | Watercolor Florals with Rubeena
Mar 30, 2018
Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby, and I’m so excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders Blog today. This post is part of a series featuring the Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low! You can find my first two posts here and here.
For my first card, I used Rosy Summer Flowers Dies. I die-cut the both dies from watercolor paper and then watercolored them loosely with my Daniel Smith Ultra Fine Watercolors. I wanted to use a non-traditional color for the leaves so I used a dark blue shade.
For the background, I did a light wash of gray watercolor on watercolor cardstock and once it dried, I stamped the sentiment in a dark blue ink. I glued the piece to my white card base and then mounted the floral images on top.
For my second card, I used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors with the Lovely Lilac Dies. I die-cut both dies from watercolor cardstock and watercolored them, but I added some smaller details with a fine watercolor brush. For the card base, I decided to add a partial piece of black cardstock and added in lines with a black pen. I stamped the sentiment in the center and then mounted the floral pieces in the bottom corner.
Both cards have a clean and simple look. These floral die-cuts are very versatile, and I showed some basic ways you can color and design the cards.
