Hi, crafty friends! Lea Lawson here with you today, creating this spooky Halloween scene featuring the Frank die set from the Simon Hurley Halloween Hugs collection. We are going to ink blend a starry night to help the adorable elements from the Frank die set really come to life!

Today I’m sharing my step-by-step process in easy-to-follow photos and instructions. I hope you find them helpful!

Diecut the Frank body pieces from Rainforest cardstock, the pumpkin from Carrot cardstock, and the shirt, skull & teeth pieces from Classic White.
Please note: the dies are flipped up for your reference. You will need to flip them over and cut into the cardstock when diecutting.

Diecut the tongue from Dahlia cardstock, the jacket pieces from Fawn & Truffle cardstock, the eyes from Classic White, and the Tombstone pieces from Brushed Silver, Mirror Silver, Fog, and Anchor.

Diecut all the remaining pieces from Raven, and the bold pieces from Brushed Silver and Mirror Silver.

Diecut the sentiment layers from Violet and the circle from Gold Glitter Metallic.

Layer & glue together Frank’s head. Be sure to adhere the teeth before backing with the black cardstock. Glue the white eye layers first, then the black layers to the top.

Glue the body, shirt, and jacket layers together, then add the hands behind the sleeves to finish Frank.

Assemble and glue the Tombstone layers together.

Assemble and glue the Skull, Pumpkin Basket and Sentiment banner layers together.

Ink blend a night sky to a Classic White cardstock panel in purple, blue, green and black ink. I know the ink blending looks a bit strange, but bear with me until the next step. It will make all the difference!

Splatter the ink-blended background with Splatter White and Gold Rush ink. Adding these splatters turns the odd ink blending into a spooky night sky!

Once dry, mount the panel & the glitter gold moon to an A2 white card base with foam tape.

Adhere the Tombstone to the lower left corner, popping just the top up with thin foam strips.

Adhere Frank holding the Pumpkin Basket to the front with liquid glue.

Mount the sentiment banner to the front with thin foam strips.

Adhere the Skull and Spider to the card front.

Accent the card with Aura AB crystals to finish.
TIP: I find using the Precision Tool from the Handy Tool Kit helpful when adhering the tiny crystals to the card.
