Flower Garden Inspiration | Floral Wreath with Ruby

Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby, and I’m so excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders Blog today. This post is part of a series featuring the Flower Garden Collection by Sharyn Sowell!  You can find the first post here.

There are many possibilities with the Flower Garden Collection! In my last post, I shared a very clean look and rainbow colors. Here, I wanted to go with a darker (but still pretty) look.

I started by die-cutting the frame die from the Dimensional Floral Panel four times from black cardstock and once from white cardstock using the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. I kept one of the outer negatives and the inner negatives. I removed all the negatives pieces from the frame die of the white panel using the Tool ’N One.

I colored the white frame with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors and finished off the look with some messy black and white paint splatters. I stamped a sentiment on the inner negative with clear embossing ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder.

I glued down the black negatives and frame first for the base using glue pen and then added on the layers of black frames, finishing it off with the dried colored frame. I kept the negatives so I would know exactly where to center the frame and give it some dimension, too.

I hope you were inspired by this card and I hope you'll want to play with Flower Garden Collection as well. Thanks so much for stopping by!
