Fall & Halloween Card Ideas with Svitlana Shayevich

Hello friends! Svitlana Shayevich from Craftwalks is here. I’m so excited to guest design today and I will be sharing two cards using products from the Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection.

Fall is one of my favorite time of year, I adore fall holidays and everything related to them. I’m getting butterflies in my stomach when the time comes to see new fall themed products. For my first card I used the Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate with the Starburst Glimmer Hot Foil to foil two fall leaves borders onto a watercolor paper.

Then I colored the leaves using brush markers and fussy cut them with my scissors. Next I foiled the sentiment using the same foil and the Stylish Script Thankful Glimmer Hot Foil Plate onto a dark gray cardstock panel. After that I adhered the leaves in the top and bottom parts of the panel, and adhered it onto a yellow card base. I made the card base a bit longer than an A2 card, but a bit slimmer.

White cardstock, gray cardstock, yellow cardstock, liquid glue My next card is a Halloween one and it has a story. I’m very particular (sometimes to OCD level) when it comes to sticking to seasons. It affects all areas of my life - food, decor, activities. I love being seasonal. And it also applies to TV movies and shows I watch. October is a Halloween month and scary movies should be watched exclusively. Although the older I get - the harder to watch like very scary movies (heart attack fear lol). So usually I do Supernatural the whole month :) And my Halloween card today is inspired by Dean Winchester Impala (for those who didn’t watch Supernatural - it’s a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala belonging to a main character).

To make the car first I hot foiled a spider web onto a black cardstock using the Spider Web Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Prism Glimmer Hot Foil. Next I die-cut the car body out of this cardstock using a die from the Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies. Using the same die set I die-cut other car elements out of a black and silver cardstock.

Next I made the passengers by die-cutting three skeletons using the Die D-Lites Halloween Sunday Drive Etched Dies out of a white cardstock and their accessories out of a black and silver cardstock. After that I assembled the card with the skeletons riding it by gluing all elements together.

Next I made the background by blending gray and black oxide inks onto a white panel and sprinkling it with water. After that I foiled the moon from the Spooky Greetings Glimmer Hot Foil Plate using the Prism Glimmer Hot Foil onto the panel and added some silver spray splatters onto it. Followed by adhering it onto a white card base.
