Classic Paper Quilt Cards
Hi crafty friends! I’m Michelle Woerner from Stop and Stamp the Roses and I’m super excited to be guest blogging today. I’ll be sharing 3 cards I made with the brand-new Home Sweet Quilt Collection.
The Home Sweet Quilt Collection is designed by Becca Feeken and features six die sets, one 3D embossing folder, and one clear stamp set. It was inspired by beautiful homemade quilt designs that can be adapted to many crafting styles. Let’s take a look at what I made.
To create the octagon shaped card base take 8.5”x11” white cardstock and fold it in half at the 5.5” mark. Then place the Quilt Frame die with the top of the die slightly over the cardstock fold. Run it through your Platinum machine 2-3 times to make sure you cut through both pieces of cardstock.
Layer together the Quilt Outline and Frame and die cut from white cardstock and adhere it to the card base.
Die cut and layer together a variety of the Inner Diamond and Triangle Inserts pieces from Waterfall, White, dark and light peach cardstock.
Piece together paper and adhere the colors randomly in the frame. Then adhere a few of the flourished triangles over the matching color pieces.
Die cut the flower and foliage pieces from the Be Bold Blooms die set from Waterfall, White, Beeswax, and Fern cardstock. Layer and adhere to card front.
For the sentiment, hot-foil and die cut the “You are a wonderful friend” sentiment from the Yana's Special Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set with Teal Foil.
Layer together the Mini Quilt Square Outline and Insert and die cut from white cardstock and adhere to the card base.
Die cut and layer together a variety of the Mini Quilt Inserts pieces from Purple Mist, Lilac Blossom, White, dark and light peach cardstock and patterned paper.
Paper piece and adhere the colors randomly in the frame.
Create a 6”x3” mini slimline card base from white cardstock.
Layer together the Panel Outline and Half Diamond Stitched Insert and die cut from white cardstock. Mat to a piece of Purple Mist cardstock.
Die cut the Half Diamond Stitched Insert pieces from White cardstock and patterned papers.
Paper piece and adhere the pieces randomly in the frame.
Tie a bow around the panel and attach it to the card base using foam squares.
For the sentiment, hot-foil and die cut the “Thank you” sentiment from the Yana's Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set with Silver Foil.
Add light purple gem accents.
Thank you for spending time with me on the Spellbinders blog. I hope these cards inspired you to bring out the inner quilter in you, only the easier paper version! You can find me on Instagram and my blog.
