Autumn is Upon Us!
Hello there, Michelle Short here and I am delighted to be back on the Spellbinders blog using the Woodland Tales Collection. Autumn/fall is upon is here in the Northern Hemisphere and this Woodland Tales Collection is perfect for the season (but can be used all round too!). Whilst my color palette doesn’t necessarily give autumn vibes, the subject matter does!
EACH DAY IS A GIFT
For my first project, I wanted to use Finley the Fox. I thought that he would look great nestled in an autumn forest background. For me, mushrooms work perfectly for autumn, so I grabbed them and got to work die-cutting!
To make this card:
For my second project, I wanted to create a little box using one of the beautiful papers in the collection, as well as the Gingko Leaves 3D Wax Seal.
To make this box:
Thread black ribbon around the box and secure in place at the front with a bow.
Create wax seal using the Wax Seal Starter Kit: melt Black Wax Beads in the spoon placed on the wax bead warmer. Once melted, pour onto the silicon mat and place Gingko Leaves 3D Wax Seal on top and wait for a minute or so. Once cool, remove from mat.
TIP: When creating wax seals, especially oval-shaped ones, I like to melt more wax than needed. I find it easier to pour that way. Any wax left over can be poured onto the silicone mat and once dry, can be melted again.
HELLO
My last card uses the beautiful Woodland Tales Floral Etched Dies. I am not sure what flower these are made to be, but I decided, although not accurate in shape, to use the colors of a sunflower.
To make this card:
Whilst gold isn’t my go-to color, I really like it paired with black. I created the box first and then following that, that became my color palette for the collection. Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
