Piggy in Pink Watercolor

Piggy in Pink Watercolor

Hello and welcome to the Hero Arts blog! It's Janette here with you today and I'm sharing a bit of simple watercoloring on the cutest lil' piglet you ever saw!

Begin by stamping the County Fair Pig image on Arches Hot Press watercolor paper in watercolor friendly Intense Black ink. I like to use hot press for the smooth texture that provides crisp stamped images. Place a single drop of Pink and Teal Liquid Watercolor onto craft mat and dampen a Mini Watercolor Brush with clear water. I'm loving these tiny brushes for detail work and convenience!

Apply pink, full strength, into the nooks, crannies and shadowed areas of the piggy. Rinse brush and blend color out with clear water. Once complete, or while allowing sections to dry, move onto balloons with teal and the same technique.

Once watercolor is dry, die cut. Also die cut Marquee Frame Fancy Die from Snow Layering Paper and white heat emboss sentiment onto black. Stamp County Fair Bold Prints in Intense Black Ink onto Snow Layering paper and trim to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Assemble card beginning by adhering stamped background panel to Snow Folded Card base. Adhere 4" x 5 1/4" vellum around edges only onto stamped panel. Pop Marquee frame with dimensional adhesive and adhere piggy and sentiment directly to vellum.

Don't forget to add an interior sentiment and to send this little cutie off as happy mail!

Only a few more sleeps until countdown sneak peeks begin for the August My Monthly Hero Kit, yay! If you have yet to check out the new subscription options you may do that HERE. Have a crafty week!

That’s adorable. I’m definitely going to try this technique in the near future! Thanks for the ideas. :)
