October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 and Giveaway!

October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 and Giveaway!

We are back with another look at the October My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Monday, October 2nd at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We’ll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more project inspiration! Now let’s join Ilina, who is sharing another look at this fabulous kit.

I love Christmas and Christmas crafting! The October My Monthly Hero kit has so much potential and there are so many possibilities for this kit. I love coloring and building scenes, so that's what I did for my card today. I stamped the images onto Snow Layering paper using Intense Black ink, colored them with Chameleon pens and die cut them using the coordinating dies (note: the elves were hand cut ;)) Onto a separate panel of Snow Layering paper I stamped the mountains and colored them with Chameleon pens, then masked them off and blended Soft Pool shadow ink to create the sky.

To create the window I used a Woodgrain card stock piece trimmed down to 4" x 5 1/4" and die cut a circle using the Circle Infinity Dies. I stamped the sentiment onto a 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip of Blush layering paper using Versamark ink and embossed with White embossing powder.

To create the snow on the mountain and the house, I used the thick lacquer that comes in the kit and applied it carefully to the areas where I wanted snow to "appear". Then, I gently sprinkled some Silver embossing powder and gently heat set it (tip: don't overheat it as the thick lacquer will start to bubble). I adhered the window frame and the Snow panel together using mounting tape. I adhered all the elements, the sentiment and few Poinsettia sequins. Then adhered onto a Blush note card.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, October 2nd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to come back tomorrow for additional Countdown posts with more inspiration!

This is adorable! Thanks for the tip on heating the thick lacquer. It’s always annoying to mess something up when you’ve already invested a lot of work in it.
