March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

We're back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the March My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, March 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We’ll be here all weekend long, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don’t forget to comment on each and every post as we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Now let's join Clare as she shares a quick watercolor take on the kit...

The dies in this kit are so beautiful and bold that they really don't need much else to make a great card. I decided today to pair them up with some watercolors for some super quick and easy cards.

For my first card, I die cut the word "hugs" from Blush Layering paper, and then adhered it to piece of handmade watercolor paper. I then stamped the accompanying "birthday" sentiment above it, in Pale Tomato ink.

I then used the pretty Indigo liquid watercolor to create some easy, light horizontal stripes across the card, being careful not to ink up my die cut and sentiment. If you wanted, you could temporarily adhere a placeholder die cut, if you're worried about accidentally painting the word.

For the second card, I did the same thing, except I used the "thank" word die to die cut a piece of cardstock I had covered with Indigo ink. I stamped the accompanying "you" sentiment in Indigo, and then began painting angled, thin stripes with a mix of Strawberry and Dandelion watercolor.

I topped both cards off with some hearts that I die cut from Blush and Sea Layering paper using the Heart Confetti background die.

I love how fast these were to make, especially since thank you and birthday cards are the card occasions that I use the most often!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, March 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!

Maybe liquid watercolour sample in the kit? Would that be too much to ask?
