Accordion Book Mini Album

Hi everyone, Ilina here today. Today I am featuring the new Handmade Accordion Book. This blank book measures 5"x7" and is comprised of 8 fold-out sheets of 140lb 100% recycled watercolor paper. A silky ribbon tie closure is included. When I first saw it, I though it would be perfect for Mini Albums for my kids' daycare pictures.

To make/decorate the cover I used the Luggage Tag Alphabet stamp set and coordinating dies. I wanted the outside to coordinate with the inside (the photos), so I went with Tide Pool ink to stamp the letters to spell "Memories". Once stamped, I die cut them and set them aside.

Next, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Your Are So Lovely set using Tide Pool and Fresh Lawn ink pads. I stamped enough to decorate the inside of the Accordion Book too. Once stamped I die cut them using the coordinating dies, added foam tape on the back of the letters and flowers and adhered them to the cover of the book, making sure the letters don't go under the ribbon closure, so they are visible. Next I adhered the leaves. The flowers and leaves were arranged in a way that they are symmetrical (diagonally).

I added pearls from the Pool Mixed Accents pack to decorate the flower centers.

Next, I used the remaining flowers and leaves to decorate the inside of my album and the photos. When you decorate the inside it's more practicall to not use 3-D embellishments and adhesive, so the book can close nicely and not damage the photos.

Below are little close ups of how I decorated the book. Under each photo I added my kids' names and their age at the times the photos were taken.

You can add as many or as little details to make it your own.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you are inspired to do something creative today!
