Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card and video to share using the Hero Studio July Fancy Dies of the Month . There are so many ways to use these dies, especially the background die. You can use the positive, the negative, use both together, or as I am doing today, dry emboss!
Here is the video showing how I made the card:
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
I started off my card by creating the background. I took a panel of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock and added ink blending on top with Core Inks. I added a blob each of Lemon Yellow , Ultra Pink , Aquatic , Paradise and Amethyst using Large Ink Blending Brushes .
I then blended Pitch Black Core Ink around the sides of the panel and in between the colours. I placed the Star Cluster Stencil on top and then using the same brushes, blended ink through it randomly (so not to add the entire pattern of the stencil).
I placed the July Fancy Dies of the Month background die on top of the panel and ran it through my die cutting machine with an embossing mat. This embosses/debosses the die into the cardstock, rather than cutting it and gives a fun look! I sprayed the edges of the panel with Black + Shimmer Tone-on-Tone Metallic Spray and then splattered on White Glimmer Metallic Ink before setting it aside to dry.
I die cut the letters to spell 'dream big' from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock using the Luggage Tag Alphabet Frame Cuts . I cut each letter five times and stacked them up one on top of another for added dimension, adhering with Precision Glue XL .
The background panel was adhered to an A2 sized white card base with tape runner adhesive and then the letters adhered on top with Precision Glue XL . To finish off, I embellished with Translucent Blues , Transulcent Purples , Translucent Pinks and Translucent Sunset Enamel Dots.
I hope I have inspired you to get those dies out and try dry embossing/debossing with them! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
