March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the March My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, March 5th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We will be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as the new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday, so stay tuned for more inspiration! Now let's join Jess who is sharing the first look at this wonderful kit.

This month the kit theme is "Basics" and this kit is going to be a must-have for your craft stash! We have some fabulous stand-alone sentiment dies in this month's kit and I'm focusing on one of them today along with a fun sentiment banner included in the kit!

I stamped the 'free hugs' sentiment onto white cardstock seven times using several inks in our Bold Ink line. I used Rose Madder, Strawberry, Tangerine, Dandelion, Green Apple, Summer Sky, and Orchid Bold Inks. Then I used the coordinating die to die-cut each banner before adhering them to a top-folding card base.

Next I die-cut the gorgeous 'hugs' sentiment three times from black cardstock and adhered them together to create a thick, chipboard-like embellishment. I adhered that to the banners, added a layer of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle, and then a layer of clear gloss using our new lacquer pen. I love the dimensional look the lacquer gives to the sentiment! Finally I stamped the first part of the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a label and adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape.

Super quick to create and very easy to mass-produce for a stash of encouragement cards! This kit will have you cranking out a variety of cards for every occasion. All weekend long the team is sharing tons of inspiration for this amazing kit!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, March 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!
