Kicking off the 2023 CommUNITY Feature with Dana and Pam

Hello everyone. Dana and Pam with you today. We are kicking off the CommUNITY feature post for this year. The CommUNITY feature is about embracing and honoring the creativity of individuals who are often underrepresented. By sharing art from a diverse group of creators, we hope to not only bring inspiration to this papercrafting community we all love so much, but also support and empower individuals to be their authentic selves as they create and share.

This feature is near and dear to our hearts. Being inspired by so many amazing creators and artists makes us happy. Making sure everyone is included and feels represented in this crafting community is our purpose.

Let's get into the cards I made today. My card is featuring the United People Bold Prints stamp. By starting off with a piece of Dove White cardstock, I stamped the image in Intens-ified Black ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Now it was time to do a little masking.

I pulled out my Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies and die cut a mask for the center of my image. I wanted to preserve this area for a different medium. Next It was time to add some color. Using Hero Arts Blending Brushes in a size large, I blended Pale Tomato, Cherry and Cranberry inks over the embossed image, making sure to overlap the colors for a nice gradient.

I peeled off my mask and used White Glimmer Metallic Ink and a flat paint brush to cover the center heart. This toned down the stark white area and gave me a beautiful metallic feel. For some added texture, I flicked on White Iridescent Shimmer Mist. I knew I wanted to mat my card, so I trimmed down this image to mat it on a piece of Pitch Black cardstock.

Using my Hero Arts Precision Glue, I adhered the colorful panel to the black cardstock and then this panel to a 4.25" x 5.5" card base made from Dove White cardstock. The finishing touch was to add a sentiment. I stamped a sentiment from the Empowerment stamp set in Intens-ified Black ink onto Dove White cardstock. Using my scissors, I fussy cut around the sentiment. For added dimension, I adhered the sentiment in the middle of the heart using foam tape. Now let's see what Pam has for you today.

Hola everyone! Dana and I are so grateful for your support and glad that you stopped by today! I am sharing a card featuring the Unity Collection Rainbow HeroScape and Rainbow Infinity Dies

To create my card, I began by stenciling clouds using the Clouds and Grass Scenic Stencil onto a 4" x 5.25" Dove White cardstock panel using Cotton Candy ink.  I matted the cloudy panel with Woodland cardstock and adhered it to an A2 white card base.

To continue, I die-cut the rainbow arcs with Color of Earth Paper and bronze glitter cardstock. I stamped a sentiment onto one of the rainbow arcs in black ink

Next, I assembled and adhered the rainbow onto the card front-placing white enamel dots on one arc and drawing lines on another.

I then die-cut the large cloud from the Rainbow Infinity Dies twice and glued them together for dimension. I lightly blended the cloud with Cotton Candy Ink and popped it onto the card with foam dots.

I stamped a sentiment from Rainbow HeroScapes onto white cardstock; trimmed and glued it to the cloud.

To complete the card, I added Champagne Sequin Mix

Dana and I thank you for stopping by and hope we have inspired you to create with products from the Hero Arts Unity Collection and more. We are proud to be a part of our wonderful creative community.
