June My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

We’re back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the June My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, June 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We’ll be here all weekend long, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don’t forget to comment on each and every post as we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Here’s Jana with another look at the new kit.

Jana here! This kit has so many images in it that there are endless possibilities. I created a simple card using several images with ink blending.

I started with a piece of Snow Layering Paper and masked off the large strip on the front of the card so I could do some ink blending. I used Butter Bar, Just Rust and Mulled Wine dye inks and applied them lightly at first, adding several layers until I got the colors I wanted. Then I removed the masking tape.

Using Intense Black ink, I stamped the grass along the bottom, the tree and the two giraffes from the kit stamp set. I love the different sizes and “poses” of animals that you will find in this kit. So versatile!  Then I stamped the greeting from the kit stamp set.

I matted the card front with black cardstock. I adhered the stamped piece to a Sunshine Mix folded card (you could also use a piece of Sunshine Mix Layering papers) using foam tape and then added it all to a card base. When you get your kit I suggest that you do a Google search on “Serengeti sunset images”.  The most stunning photos will come up with sunsets that are breathtaking. You will find so many options for the colors you might want to use on your background and images you might want to put together. So much inspiration!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, June 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances you’ll have to win.

Good luck!
