Gift Card Holders with Simon Hurley

Hi there! It’s Simon Hurley and today I am excited to share a couple of ways to create colorful and unique gift card holders.

To cut out all of the gift card holders, I used the Envelope Fancy Die which makes it super easy to create them. I used regular white cardstock and vellum to get two fun and unique effects. For the white cardstock gift card holders, I used a variety of bright Hero Arts Bold Inks (hybrid inks) to get nice blended backgrounds. (Colors: Tangerine, Crimson, Rose Madder, Indigo, Aegean, Green Apple.) Then, I sprayed the background to get some subtle texture and color variation.

For the vellum gift card holders, I blended the Hero Arts hybrid inks to get a soft color overlay. These inks dry fast on vellum and give a really effortless color coverage.

Then, I folded in the edges on the score lines and glued the sides to the bottom of the gift card pocket.

To add fun and playful scenes onto the front, I used the Purr and Woof stamps sets with the cute little pets. After coloring in the images I added them onto the front of the gift card holders with a heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock.
