Hello crafters! I hope you've been enjoying all the fun of the brand new Spring 2024 release. This is Rachel Kleinman and today I'm excited to share a card using one of my favorite new products – the Parquet Cover Plate.
This cover plate is such a beautiful staple to your background stash, and can be layered in endless combinations. My card today card features Hero Arts Premium Cardstocks in Arctic, Peony, and Mustard.
To layer the cardstocks, I recommend picking your favorite 3-color-combo of cardstocks. Then die cut the Parquet Cover Plate from two of those colors. This card uses Arctic as the base, Peony for the main design, and Mustard for the large fill-in pieces. I adhered the pieces using my Hero Arts Tweezers and Precision Glue.
Since the cover plate is so beautiful, I didn't want the sentiment to cover up too much of the card panel. I stamped the diamond stamp and 'for you' sentiment with Embossing Watermark Ink and heat embossed both in Gold Embossing Powder over Arctic cardstock. These stamps and coordinating die cuts are from the Geometric Frames Bundle (a staple set for your stash, as far as I'm concerned!) I then used my Compact Cutter to die cut the banner from Mustard cardstock, which is from the Decorative Accents Fancy Dies set. I layered these with Precision Glue and added to the center of the cover plate card panel.

I also had the opportunity to work with this beautiful die for the newly released Spring 2024 Catalog! Here is the card I created, which was published on page 16 of the catalog. This card uses Azalea, Nautical, and Mustard cardstock.
