Today we're delighted to have Debi Adams here to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons.

Hi friends and welcome to September! We are about to enter my favorite time of the year, FALL! I love everything about this season and definitely the changes that happen. So today I thought I would share two cards from the My Monthly Hero add-on collection for September that embrace autumn.

Well, acknowledging that fall is approaching is this Happy Autumn Birthday card using the Crows and Autumn Leaves Bold Prints stamp. Though it’s generally used for a background, it also has the ability to be used in pieces. So as I got carried away with cutting out circles, I decided to include two of the birds from the background. I also cut out some Copic-colored fall leaves and splattered the background lightly with paint. Really a different approach for this stamp and definitely more of a mixed media-style card, but I kinda like pushing the envelope, but only with art! ;).

Of course, I have loved each and every “month” die-cut that has been made so far. I have plans for them and September is no exception. I colored in the word using shades of yellow and orange Copic markers. I backed it with another “September”, this time cut from gold poster board and adhered them together. Creating the background for the card base, I applied Pool Party, Blue Hawaii, Lemon Drop and Green Apple Reactive Inks using a blending tool and then splattered just a tiny bit of white acrylic paint to create stars in the sky. The die-cut pumpkin was embellished with Lemon Drop and Creamsicle Reactive inks. A stamped and embossed sentiment from the main kit finished off the greeting. A super quick and easy card but bold on color.

I’m ready for those leaves to start changing and the evening breezes to blow. It always puts me in the mood to create. What about you?

Hope you got a bit of inspiration today and that September brings a season of refreshment for you.

XO,
