Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson  here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons.

I’m very excited to be sharing two ice cream themed cards that I made with several of this month’s nostalgic add-on products. Both of these cards feature the fun, new Ice Cream Truck Bundle . This stamp and die set includes an adorable ice cream truck image, assorted frozen treat stamps, and a collection of punny sentiments. All of these can be use with the coordinating dies to make summer cards for all occasions.

For my first card, I started by cutting an imperfect oblong from a piece of masking paper and then repeatedly inking over it onto a panel of Dove White cardstock with Taffy , Fruit Punch , Blue Hawaii , and Grape Slush inks. Before securing the inked panel to a Passion Flower card base with foam tape, I stamped one of the set’s sentiments directly onto the background with Intens-ified Black ink.

For the card’s focal point, I simply stamped three images from the stamp set—the ice cream truck, an ice cream cone sign, and a popsicle. Before die cutting each image, I colored them with colored pencils, using colors similar to the background. I secured each finished piece to the card with foam tape. For a final detail, I added three Purple Enamel Dots to the card.

For my second card, I embossed the new Triangle Mix Bold Prints background onto a panel of white cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and White Embossing Powder . Then, using several blending brushes , I inked over the panel with Fruit Punch, Taffy, Lemon Drop and Creamsicle inks. After removing any excess ink with a paper towel, I trimmed the panel with a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die and then secured it to a white card base.

To embellish this card, I stamped, colored, and die cut three ice cream cones from the Ice Cream Truck Bundle. Before securing the images to the card, I glued two additional die cut layers behind each cone with Precision Glue . For the card’s sentiment, I embossed and die cut a fun message, from the same set, onto a piece of Cup O’ Joe cardstock. To finish the card, I added a few Pink Enamel Dots .
