August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

It's time for our third countdown peek! The August My Monthly Hero kit will be available to pre-order on Monday, August 3 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let’s join Ilina for some blissful inspiration using this month's kit!

Hi everyone! Ilina here sharing another peek at the new My Monthly Hero kit. I love this kit as it's perfect for those of us who are staying home during these challenging times. We have been planning with the kids to buy a tent and just camp in our backyard for little bit of a change, so for my card I decided to create a night scene using the image of the kids in tent along with the lounge chair.

To make the card, start by ink blending the background. Start with a piece of Dove White cardstock, some masking paper or anything that you can use to create the line between the grass and sky. I started with piece measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (which once ink blended I trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4").

Ink blend Fresh Lawn Shadow Ink for the grass using a blending tool of your choice and Navy and Dusty Blue Shadow Inks for the sky. Splatter some Unicorn re-inker and White Shimmer iridescent spray to create the stars. Set it aside to dry.

While the background is drying, stamp the images using Intens-ified Black ink, color using alcohol based markers and die cut using the coordinating dies that come in the kit. Also, die cut two "Greetings from" from Dove White cardstock. Adhere the sentiments together and let them dry.

Arrange the images onto the background and adhere using foam tape. Stamp sentiment and emboss in white, adhere the die cut sentiment above. Using fun foam or foam tape, adhere the entire panel to a Dove White top folding note card.

*** Win a kit before you can buy it *** Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, August 3, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!
