August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

MMH Countdown to Creativity

We are back with another look at the August My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Monday, August 1st at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more inspiration! Now let's join Clare and see what she made with this beautiful kit!

I've always loved the intricate look of paper cutting, so I was so excited to see the dies for this month's kit - they make creating the paper cutting look for yourself super easy and quick!

For my card today, I used the main kit die to die cut the white and kraft cardstock, and then the add-on frame die for the purple and black. By alternating the layers and die cuts, I get a very detailed look. You could add foam adhesive for more dimension and definition between the layers, but I wanted to keep this one as thin as possible for mailing's sake.

Look how pretty these little pixies are! I first inked them up with hero_product_link sku="VC250" text="VersaMark ink"] for the stickiness so that I could add the clear hero_product_link sku="PW105" text="Sparkle Embossing Powder"] later, then inked them up with hero_product_link sku="AF101" text="Black ink"].

I also added some subtle details by stamping some clouds and a trail of dust for the fairies in just hero_product_link sku="VC250" text="VersaMark ink"], and then embossing in that same hero_product_link sku="PW105" text="Sparkle Embossing Powder"]. The end result is so magical, and the kit makes it a snap!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, August 1, before the kit launches at 1pm eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
