Hey Crafty Friends, it’s Amy Tsuruta, and I’m thrilled to be back on the Spellbinders blog featuring the super festive Starry Holiday Collection by Dina Wakley. I’m smitten with Dina’s Spellbinders Collections, including her new BetterPress Inks, which are vibrant and versatile.
I’ve designed three cards that feature each of Dina’s new sets. I love all things BetterPress, so this collection has me so inspired.
One of my favorite sets is the Merry, Merry, Merry Bird. You can easily use each of the images as the main focal point for a card design. I’ve captured all of them in my card. The scale of both the bird and the ornament is perfect. The base is a Porcelain A2 panel. I used the following BetterPress inks for each of the images/elements:
To add a bit of glitz, I used the star from Snowman Scene with gold glitter cardstock from the Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock.
The next card features the Cheer and Good Tidings Deer Registration Press Plate & Die Set from the Starry Holiday Collection by Dina Wakley.
The cotton BetterPress I used for this second card is Pebble. The card base is ColorWheel Anchor. I love the contrast between the Pebble and Cheddar BetterPress Ink, which is perfect for the starry sky. Using the mylar printed registration template is perfect for lining up the starry sky. The sentiment has the same ink as the stars. The deer has been inked up with Elephant from Dina’s Faves mini set. I like the deer on foam adhesive for this card design.
My final card teams up the Starry Merry Christmas and the Stars and Fronds Frame 3D embossing folder:
I embossed a Porcelain Cotton BetterPress panel and trimmed it down to fit on top of an A2 Anchor base. The sentiment has been inked up with Stoked from Dina’s Favs BetterPress Ink Mini Set by Dina Wakley. I love that gorgeous shade of pink! The others use Elephant BetterPress ink. I used a corner rounder on the lower right corner of the center panel. The overall color palette really makes the sentiment pop in this final card design.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I adore this beautiful collection, and I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired. You can find me over on Instagram @craftee1.
