Oh Joyful Day Scrapbook Layouts With Suzanna
Hello crafty friends! Suzanna Lee here today to share with you a couple of Christmas layouts that I created with the Oh Joyful Collection! This festive collection is available in the Spellbinders shop. While you’re adding that to your cart, be sure to grab some metal dies and Press Plates that complement the collection, there are so many to choose from!
For my first layout, I was inspired by the chipboard frames with the poinsettia’s. When I can find my travel journal, these frames will be filled with journaling from this visit to a Krakow Christmas Market on Christmas Eve. Frames can be used for so much more than framing photos! The top frame is even gold-foiled! Being Christmas Eve and a festive occasion, I wanted to fill the page with festivity and fun so there are lots of little tidbits scattered throughout the page!
Complimenting the bigger poinsettia on the chipboard frame, I used some metal dies with Spellbinders’ Holiday Paper Pack to create a dimensional, coordinating poinsettia. If you don’t already have the Mirror Gold cardstock, I highly recommend it! I love the shine it adds to a project! Beside this, is a very long title; Warm Wishes from the Christmas Market. I used a combination of Puffy Stickers, Ephemera and labels to create this and love how it fills the space of this section of the grid.
There are so many ephemera pieces and options to choose from in the Diecut Carstock Sentiments that comes with the Scrapbooking kit – 196 pieces! PLENTY to create with! I combined a few tags and banner pieces for a fun banner/sway below the bottom photo.
One of the many things that I love about Christmas photos is bokeh! I love how I was able to capture the tree light bokeh behind one of our cats. And better way to emphasize that circular light than with additional circles? I used the circle elements from the Diecut Cardstock Sentiments and the patterned paper the looks like bokeh to really punctuate the photo.
For a bit of variety amongst the circles, I used the Holly Jolly Santa Press Plate & Die Set to add a Santa to the row of fun and festivity. Simple black ink really compliments the contrast of the black in the white based circles and adds to range of darks and lights.
This snowglobe shaker is my favorite part of the layout! I used some dimensional double sided foam to turn one of the snowglobe chipboard frames into a shaker! It’s super easy to do and so fitting for the holiday!
Layering patterned paper with one of the frames from the Diecut Cardstock Sentiments gave me a journaling a spot. I cut out the sentiment that was in the frame and saved that for another project. Just popped up banner and a sentiment phrase from the Cardstock Sticker Pack make for some simple décor!
Be sure to check out this collection and the additional pieces that you can order! Thank you so much for joining me today! If you want to see more of my work you can find me on Instagram, Facebook, and my YouTube channel.
