How to Make a House-Mouse Party Parade Birthday Card Step-by-Step
Hello, crafty friends! I'm Melody Rupple, and today I'm excited to share a fun project using the House-Mouse Party Parade Stamps Set. I documented my creative process step-by-step, so you can follow along and recreate this card for your own celebrations!
Let’s get started!
Start by creating your card base. I used an A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”) using Kraft Cardstock. Score and fold the cardstock in half to create your card base.
Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4” x 5.25. Select the main image from the House-Mouse Party Parade Stamps Set and stamp with Brown Pigment Ink. If you plan to use alcohol markers or watercolors, it is important to use a Pigment Ink so that the ink does not smear.
To add color to the background, lightly blend ink around the stamped image. I used Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass.
Choose your favorite method for coloring. I used Olo alcohol markers, but colored pencils or watercolor would work great too. For each color family, I chose two markers. I used O4.1 and O4.3 for the browns, R51 and R5.3 for the pinks, Y0.1 and Y0.4 for the yellows, BG1.0 and BG1.2 for the aquas, and YG2.1 and YG2.3 for the greens. I started by adding my shading in the darker color in the color family.
Continue blending with the lighter color in the color family until you are happy with the results.
Next, die cut the grass and clouds using the Landscape Edges Etched Dies.
Stamp the Birthday Greeting Sentiment on the grass and lightly blend Tumbled Glass Ink on the edges of the clouds.
Use glue or a tape runner to attach the strips of clouds and grass. Attach the card front to Kraft card base.
Your House-Mouse Party Parade card is ready to give to someone special. Thank you for crafting along with me. I hope these steps inspire you to create your own parade of adorable mice! You can follow me on Instagram. Happy stamping!
