House Mouse Sweet Moments Trio

Welcome friends! This is Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook. I’m excited to be on the Spellbinders blog today with a trio of cards featuring the new House Mouse Sweet Moments Collection. I love these images, especially watercoloring them in mini scenes. I often find that they are an odd shape and don’t conform to regular dies though, so today I have an idea to share with you using the awesome Spellbinders Notch Punch to create your own layered effect. House Mouse Sweet Moments Trio, RSC-040 I started by cutting pieces of Bristol Smooth Cardstock to fit each scene and then stamped my images and sentiments with VersaFine ink. I knew I was going to watercolor and this combo gives me the best results. House Mouse Sweet Moments Trio, RSC-043 After watercoloring each scene, I cut white cardstock panels ½” larger than the watercolored panels. I chose a color I wanted to play off of for each scene and drug my ink pad across all four sides of the white cardstock panel for a textured, inked panel. This is one of my favorite ways to get quick color on the paper and it gives a great visual texture too! House Mouse Sweet Moments Trio, RSC-041 Next, I cut kraft cardstock panels about ¼” larger than the inked panels for another layer. Then I used the Notch Punch to punch the corners of all three layers for each card. I glued the kraft panels to white card bases and splattered them with pearl watercolor. Once that was dry, I glued the remaining layers on top of those. To finish the designs off, I added Spellbinders dimensional dots to each card in coordinating colors. They all have a little sparkle and shine, just how I like things. I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
