Hi there, this is
Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Glimmer Greetings Collection from Spellbinders. The gorgeous holiday designs, fun new solid shapes and backgrounds, and pretty sentiments in this collection inspired me to create four clean and simple cards in traditional Christmas colors.
Blooming Tree Cards
I loved the beautiful new
Blooming Tree Glimmer Plate Set, so decided to use this design first. Here I used one of the new Glimmer Foil colors (coming soon!) to create this easy holiday card.

- Apply White Hot Foil to Fern Cardstock using the Blooming Tree Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating die.
- Apply White Hot Foil to Portobello Cardstock using the Plaid Tidings Glimmer Plate Set and trim the panel down to 4” x 5.25”.
- Apply White Hot Foil to Phone Booth Cardstock using one of the greetings from the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating dies.
- Mat the background panel with Phone Booth Cardstock and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
- Pop the tree up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
- Add the sentiment beneath the tree with more foam adhesive.
This tree is so pretty, that I couldn’t resist creating a second card with it. Here I added a golden version to a festive archway for this fun Christmas card.

- Apply Gold Hot Foil to Fern cardstock using the Blooming Tree Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating die.
- Apply Red Sparkle Hot Foil (coming soon!) to white cardstock using the Glimmer Essential Solid Arch Plate. Cut it out using a slightly larger die from the Essential Arches Die Set.
- Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Merry Glimmer Greetings Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating dies.
- Trim a piece of Portobello Cardstock to 4” x 5.25”, emboss it with the Plaid Company Embossing Folder, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
- Pop the foiled archway up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
- Add the tree and sentiment on top with more foam adhesive.
Plaid Tidings
Next, I wanted to play a little more with the
Plaid Tidings Glimmer Plate to create a fun double-foiled background. I kept the rest of the card simple to allow all that color to shine.

- Apply Red Hot Foil to a piece of white cardstock using the Plaid Tidings Glimmer Plate, then shift the plate just a tad up on the cardstock and apply Gold Hot Foil.
- Trim the panel down to 4.25” square, mat it with Mirror Gold and Phone Booth Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding 4.75” square white card base with tape runner.
- Apply Green Hot Foil to white cardstock using one of the greetings from the Merry Glimmer Greetings Glimmer Plate Set and cut it out with the coordinating dies.
- Die cut white cardstock using the Fluted Classics Circles Die Set and adhere it to the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
- Add the sentiment on top of the circle with more foam adhesive.
Crossed Lines Cardfront
Lastly, I loved the beautiful design of the
Crossed Lines Cardfront Glimmer Plate Set and added just a few small embellishments for this simple and elegant holiday card.
