Flower Garden Inspiration | Bird Of Spring Card with Mayline
Feb 17, 2018
Hi! Mayline here with you again and I am excited to be sharing my second guest post here on the Spellbinders blog. Catch my first post here. For today’s post I’ve created clean and simple style card with the Flower Garden collection by Sharyn Sowell.
To start off I created a background using a blending technique with light blue color ink on 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock panel. And set aside. Next I used the Bird on Cherry Branch dies to cut leaves, bird, wing and cherry branch from 300g watercolor papers. After that I colored them all using watercolor paints. I then started to create a green panel with watercolor paints. After drying the panel, I cut leaves repeatedly using the Bird on Cherry Branch dies.
With the die cutting complete, I adhered the wing to the bird and leaves to cherry branch using liquid glue. And then I attached them on the blended paper that I have created at the beginning. Next, I stamped a sentiment using white pigment ink on the black paper and cut it in banner shape. I then adhered it on the paper. Next I applied glossy accents on the cherry and Wink of Stella glitter Pen on the die cutting leaves only.
And then I felt that the bottom of the card has too much white space so I decided to add some thing. So, I used the Floral Photo Frame dies to cut some beautiful botanical style shape using white cardstock. After that I attached it on the paper.
Lastly, I die cut Floral Gatefold dies using a light blue paper and then I adhered it to the side flaps folded to the back. It’s simple and easy to make a beautiful envelope using Floral Gatefold dies.
