Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado from
RachelAlvaradoDesigns.com. I am thrilled to be back for another guest post on Spellbinder’s blog! I have three projects to share with you today that feature the gorgeous new
Victorian Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.

Southern Magnolia
For my first card, I created an A2 sized card showcasing the beautiful
Southern Magnolia Etched Dies. To start, I first die-cut my flower pieces from some of
Susan’s Garden Specialty Card Stock. I love how easy it is to shape flowers with this card stock! Next, I used
Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit to shape my flowers. I actually had never made paper flowers like these before, but Susan has some wonderful YouTube tutorials online that show how to make a variety of flowers, and I found this method to be very fun and relaxing.

For the inside pieces of the flower, I colored part of them with pink Copic Markers (RV66 and RV69) and the other part with a yellow (Y15) Copic Marker. Once I was finished putting the flowers together, I then cut four leaves from some
Fern Card Stock and blended the edges with some Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink before shaping them and adhering them to my card.

Next, I trimmed a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to slightly larger than 4” x 5.25” and lightly blended some
Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink from the lower left corner out until fading to white. I added a few spatters of diluted gold watercolor paint for added interest and then trimmed my piece down to 4” x 5.25” to get rid of any ink stains on the sides of my card. I then layered this piece with a 4.25” x 5.5” piece of white card stock. I used hot foiling for my sentiment from
Yana’s Special Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.
Mason Jar With Lavender
For my second card, I created an 8” x 3.75” slimline card with some beautiful lavender sitting in a mason jar full of water. To do this, I used the new
Mason Jar and Lavender Etched Dies. This time, I blended both the front and back of a piece of
Susan’s Garden Specialty Card Stock with some
Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Inks before cutting out my flowers. I once again used the same tools as above to quickly shape my flowers.

I die-cut my leaves from some
Rainforest Card Stock and added one piece of foliage from the
Victorian Garden Foliage Etched Dies using a slightly darker piece of green card stock that I had in my scrap bin.

Next, I stamped my sentiment from the
Garden Favorites Sentiments Clear Stamp Set and then layered my white card stock with a piece of
Lilac Blossom Card Stock. I then die cut my mason jar twice from some heavy duty vellum. I attached the first piece on my card base to help me know where to line up my flowers and foliage and then the second piece on top after I had lightly blended it with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to give the illusion of water.
Teacup With Camellias
For my last project, I combined the new
Teacup and Saucer Etched Dies along with the
Camellia Etched Dies. I also added a few pieces of extra foliage from the
Victorian Garden Foliage Etched Dies. To create my teacup and saucer, I die cut them twice: once from some patterned paper and the second time from some
Mirror Gold Card Stock. I lightly blended the sides of my teacup with some
Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and then fussy cut my gold trimmings from the gold card stock that I had die-cut. I then adhered the gold pieces on top of my cup with some liquid adhesive.

For both my teal Camellia and background, I blended some
Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to blend my background and Susan’s Garden Specialty Paper for my flowers. I stamped my sentiment with black ink once again using the
Garden Favorites Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. My card measures at 5” x 7”.

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by! I hope you enjoyed my cards today! If you liked these cards and want some more inspiration, feel free to check out my
