Colorful Designs With The Jump For Joy Collection

Hello crafty friends! It’s Rachel Alvarado here with three colorful cards that feature products from the new Jump for Joy Collection. I absolutely love this adorable collection that includes a fun die set, coordinating scenic stencils, and sentiments.

3D BOX CARD

COLORFUL DESIGNS WITH THE JUMP FOR JOY COLLECTION, S4-1356, STP-239 For my first card, I created an A2 sized box card that measures at 4.25" x 5.5" when folded flat. I created my 3D box base from scratch with some 100lb white card stock.

Box Card Step-by-Step Instructions:

  • Trim two pieces of card stock (I used white) to 6" long by 1.5" tall
  • Score each of these pieces at 4" and 5.5" and fold along the score lines.
  • Create your box base by adhering both strips to each other with the .5" tabs created in the steps above.
  • Trim another piece of card stock to 4.75" wide x 5.5" tall and attach to the back of the box.
  • Trim 3 strips of card stock to 4.75" x .5" and score at 3/8" from each end to create the inner “shelves” for the box card.
  • Attach the shelves to the inside of the box with liquid adhesive
  • Add layers of card stock to the front and background of the box card as desired and finish by adding images and a sentiment.
COLORFUL DESIGNS WITH THE JUMP FOR JOY COLLECTION, S4-1356, STP-239 After creating my box base, I then die cut all of my pieces for decorating the inside of the box with the Frog Prince Etched Dies Set. For some extra shading and dimension, I blended some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto the grassy pieces and green frog. I also added a few grassy border pieces using the previously released Landscape Edges Etched Dies. For my background sky, I blended a mix of Seedless Preserves, Spiced Marmalade, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Inks onto a 3.75" x 3.25" piece of smooth white card stock and added some white ink spatters using diluted opaque white ink.

STENCILED SCENIC BACKGROUND

COLORFUL DESIGNS WITH THE JUMP FOR JOY COLLECTION, S4-1356, STP-239, STN-090 For my second card, I used the same dies as above to create my pink frog and the Lily Pad Stencil Set for my ink-blended background.  I first lightly blended my background sky onto a 3.75" x 5" piece of smooth white card stock and then used my stencils to ink blend the lily pad, water, and cattails once by background sky had dried. Ink Colors Used:
  • Background Sky: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Inks
  • Pinks: Pinkfresh Studio Sparkling Rose and Bubble Gum Ink
  • Blues: Pinkfresh Studio Summer Shower and Seaside
  • Greens: Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks
  • Browns: Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Inks

RAINBOW FLOWERS

COLORFUL DESIGNS WITH THE JUMP FOR JOY COLLECTION, S4-1356, STP-239, STN-090 For my last card, I once again used the Frog Prince Etched Dies Set along with the Jump for Joy Sentiments Clear Stamp Set to die cut my blue frog, colored flowers, and stems.  I also added a border of tall grass using the Bunch of Borders Etched Die Set and some Periot Card Stock.  I lightly blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink for my background sky and then stamped my clouds from the Jump for Joy Sentiments Clear Stamp Set with some Pinkfresh Studio Summer Shower Ink after my background was dry. I stamped my sentiment with black ink onto the top right corner of my card, added my images with 3D double-sided adhesive tape, and lastly layered my card onto a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of Malibu card stock. I hope you enjoyed my cards today and will give this beautiful collection a closer look!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by! Rachel
