Classic Mouse Halloween Card with Trick or Treat Costume Party Dies

Hello, crafty friends! Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs with a tutorial featuring the Classic Mouse Trick or Treat Costume Party dies! These dies are so fun because there are many accessories and fun items to dress up your Classic Mouse dies with. The Halloween dies in this collection work with the Classic Mouse Wedding die set, and I think it's just a fun addition to stretch your dies further.

I’ll be sharing a simple step-by-step for this card, so let’s get started!

Cutting Your Card Bases

For the card base, I used the Precision Layering A2 set and cut out the black layer for the bottom. The orange detailed piece is cut from the Color Block Accent Rectangles die set. These two layers will be adhered together to create a fun detail around the border of the card.

Cut Your Center Panel

Now, using the Precision Layering A2 set again, use the size that fits inside the orange layer and cut out using black cardstock. This layer will be adhered using foam adhesive to give some dimension.

Cut and Assemble Your Classic Mice!

This is the fun part! Using the Classic Mouse Wedding set, cut out the groom and bride bodies and clothes. These pieces work with the Classic Mouse Costume Party set so you can transform the wedding attire into Halloween costumes.

Here I have an example of the groom mouse with the die pieces I am using to add his vampire costume. Using the groom’s suit, add the Costume Party pieces to the mouse to change him to a vampire. I used black and maroon colors.

Don’t forget to add the vampire tooth to the mouth before adhering down the white face piece on the head!

Dress the Witch

I decided to use the witch costume for the girl mouse. I cut out the dress and shoes, body, head, arms, and tail from the wedding set. The hat, buckles, collar, and cape are from the costume set.

I stuck with traditional Halloween colors like orange and green.

Add Mice to Card Base

This step is easy! After your mice are assembled, add them to your prepared card base using foam and liquid adhesive. I used a mix in order to add lots of dimension to this card.

Add a Sentiment

Using the Spooky Sentiments Better Press plate, foil the sentiments with red foil. I used red foil on top of black cardstock. I love that this plate foils a number of sentiments all at once, and then cuts them all out so you have a stash of sentiments for multiple cards.

Finally, finish the card with your foiled sentiment. I added some foam adhesive behind the lower half of the sentiment so I could overhang the sentiment off the edge of the middle card panel.

And that’s it! Card finished!

This card is simple in design, but the Classic Mouse characters definitely steal the show! If you wanted to, you could even embellish with some sparkle glitter or sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you enjoyed a look at the Classic Mouse Trick or Treat Costume Party collection.

Until next time, Marie Nicole
