Video: Layered Blooms Without the Bulk!

Hello there, Michelle Short here today with a video creating dimensional blooms, using Layered Hydrangea Etched Dies . Dimensional elements can get quite bulky, so I wanted to share some tips to reduce that bluk but still have a dimensional card!

Here is the video showing how I made the card:

(If you are having trouble watching this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)

I started off by die cutting the flowers (the base layer, middle layer and individual flowers) from Layered Hydrangea Etched Dies from Windy ColorWheel Cardstock , twice. I cut the leaves (the base layer and veining layer) from Peridot ColorWheel Cardstock twice.

I then added ink blending, using a Small Blending Brush , onto the hydrangea flowers. I used Dusty Blue , Cornflower and Passion Flower Core Inks, adding the inks randomly on the flowers.

For the leaves, I used Kiwi , Green Hills and Bermuda Core Inks.

I adherd the leaves down first, onto a white A2 size card base, using liquid glue. I then placed the base layer of the hydrangea flowers on top.

I then adhered the second layer of the flowers on top, using thin foam tape/squares. The third layer was adhered with foam squares too. I really love how these flowers layer up, having different heights for different flowers!

I cut the excess overhanging the bottom of the card using scissors, but kept the sides overhanging.

I stamped a sentiment from Summer Bouquet Stamp & Cut onto Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock using Intens-ified Black Ink . It was die cut out using the coordinating die and adhered it to the card with more liquid glue.

I embellished the card using Hero Hues Translucent Purple Enamel Dots , and then to finish, added white enamel dots to some of the centres of the flowers.

I really like that the card has a lot of dimension to it but because I used thin foam tape, it doesn't have too much bulk to it!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day!
