The Spirit of Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas

Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today to share some inspiration using some of the new Add-Ons that were released with the October My Monthly Hero kit. This month's release is absolutely incredible... SO many new goodies that are just perfect to jumpstart your holiday crafting! Today, I focused on the Merry and Bright Messages sentiment set. It's a stunning set filled with beautifully drawn holiday greetings that are perfect for focal points for your holiday cards! Let's get started with the details!

To start, I die cut a Circle Infinity Die from some plain white card stock and stamped the greeting from Merry and Bright Messages using Intense Black ink. Next, I die cut several pine boughs, pinecones, and the bow from the new Color Layering Trimmings stamp set using their coordinating Frame Cuts. I stamped the pine boughs using Moss and Pine inks, the pinecones using Charcoal and Soft Granite inks, and the bow using Stone Wash and Dusty Blue inks. (I just love cool color schemes for holiday cards! Adds a bit of interest to what might normally be a red and green card!)

After stamping the main focal points of my card, I turned my attention to the background. I wanted something subtle, but with a bit of textural interest, so I stamped the new Delicate Snowflakes Bold Prints using Versamark on some more plain white card stock, then added some Sparkle embossing powder and zapped it with my heat gun. The subtle sparkle adds just the right amount of interest to the background without distracting the eye too much from the pretty sentiment and decorative pine bough.

I mounted all of the die cut elements using foam tape. Not the easiest card to mail, but I liked to send my extra-involved holiday cards to special people (i.e.- the people who won't throw the card in the trash asap haha!).

Well, that's all for me today! Thanks so much for dropping by! If you are on the fence about purchasing a My Monthly Hero kit for October, be sure to get over there quickly. These kits frequently sell out, and you don't want to miss out!
