The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Today I'm sharing a pair of holiday cards that I made using three of the new Wintertime products - the Most Wonderful Time sentiment stamp, the Swirly Flower Bold Prints stamp, and the Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set. I've combined traditional colors with chalkboard sentiments to create a gift inspired card design.

For the backgrounds, I simply stamped trimmed panels of white layering paper with the new Swirly Flower Bold Prints stamp using Crimson and Moss inks. I think that this striking pattern resembles beautiful, holiday wrapping paper, especially when it's stamped with bold ink colors.

To make the chalkboard tags, I heat embossed the Most Wonderful Time sentiment with White embossing powder onto black cardstock tags that I die cut with one of the Tag Infinity dies. I love how perfectly the sentiment fits onto the tag. To create the look of a previously erased chalkboard, I simply rubbed some white ink over the embossed sentiment with my fingertip and then blended it with a paper towel.

To embellish the tags, I stamped and die cut ornaments and leaves, again with Crimson and Moss inks, using the Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set. To add some shine, I heat embossed each of the pieces with Sparkle embossing powder. I also used a hole punch to put small holes at the top of each ornament.

I wrapped the stamped backgrounds with gingham ribbon from my stash, tied the tags and ornaments to the panels with the ribbon, secured the leaves behind the ornaments with adhesive, and then added the panels to white card bases with foam tape. I finished each card with a few Ombre Green sequins.

I hope that you're inspired to combine some of your favorite, new stamp sets on your holiday cards this year. Wishing you a terrific day,

Great cards! These cards inspired me into buying the background stamp. My daughter loves purple and silver. I may try that combo, I think it would be pretty.

I love this Christmas card! The background of the card is awesome. The color is not traditional but it fits the card. I am going to buy the stamps and try to make the same card. Absolutely beautiful!
