September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

We are back with another look at the September My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Tuesday, September 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more inspiration! Now let's join Michelle, who is sharing another look at the fabulous main kit, available on Tuesday!

Hello there, what a fabulous kit this month! I absolutely love the autumnal feel to it. The stamp set is filled with wonderful images but I decided to use the pumpkins for my card today. I love that you can create them using a number of different colour combinations for lots of different looks.

I started off by stamping the pumpkins using various shades of yellow ink. For the smaller ones I used Butter Bar, Orange Soda and Pumpkin Pie. The larger one uses Butter Bar, Pumpkin Pie and Cup O' Joe. These were then fussy cut out with scissors. I cut one of the tags from the Tag Infinity Dies set and blended over Stormy Sky Distress ink. I then splattered over some water for a little interest. The sentiment was stamped in the top right with Intense Black Ink. The pumpkins were added to the tag with foam tape.

I took a piece of the Moonrock Cardstock from the kit (this has a lovely rustic look to it) and ran this through my die cutting machine with the Delicate Petals Stencil. This embossed the piece and gave some interest to it. I added this to a white A2 card base and then added the tag on top with foam tape. To finish off, I added natural twine through the top of the tag. I also added two sequins from the Champagne Mix and one pearl.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Tuesday morning, September 5th, before the kit launches at 1pm eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!

I get so inspired when others expand my way of thinking about using materials. I really like that you attached a tag to a card. It adds such an interesting appearance! Thanks!

The embossed piece did add a lot of interest to this simple, but lovely card. The tag looks handpainted.
