January My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to the countdown to the release of the January My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, January 6th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here all weekend sharing peeks. Now let's join Michelle for another look at this wonderful kit!

Hello there, as soon as I saw this kit, I knew that I wanted a layered design but still kept quite clean and simple and I think the dies in the kit work perfectly for this. I started off my card by die cutting the envelope die from the kit using Classic Vellum Layering Paper and folded the sides up to create the envelope.

I then took the buttterfly die and cut this from Hero Hues Arctic Premium Cardstock. I wanted the middle of the butterfly to be a little darker so I blended on some Pool Party Reactive Ink and then spritzed it using White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. I die cut one of the leaf dies in the kit twice from Hero Hues Kiwi Premium Cardstock and adhered them to the envelope using a small amount of Precision Glue. I then added the butterfly in the middle using foam tape.

The envelope was adhered to a top folded card base, that I have scored lines on with a score board and bone folder, using tape runner (making sure to hide the adhesive behind the butterfly). I took the sentiment from the kit stamp set and stamped it on to Hero Hues Pitch Black Premium Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I then heat embossed using White Detail Embossing Powder and cut it in to a strip using the banner die included in the kit. This was added to the card with tape runner and then I finished off the card by adding a few Blues Hero Hues Enamel Dots.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, January 6th, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!
